Pete the postman travels from village to village delivering post on his trusty unicycle. He has recently arrived in Bellhollow and discovered a horrifying mystery: children are vanishing from the village, and worse, they are being erased from the memories of their own families. The only evidence of their existence are letters they wrote to their families before disappearing, messages like "To Mother, in case I forget." Pete is beginning to understand that the village is cursed, and the pale figure roaming the streets is responsible for taking the children into the mist while erasing all memory of them.
Pete realizes the pale figure erases the children from memory entirely, with only the letters serving as evidence they existed.
Posty Pete visits the homes of the missing children's families and discovers the horrifying reality of the curse.
Posty Pete delivers mail to the Magistrate's Office and learns of the disappearances.
