Aldwin
The Village Elder of Bellhollow, an old man with a weathered face who carries a walking stick. Unlike the rest of Bellhollow's population, Aldwin retains memories across the weekly memory cycles—he remembers each week that passes and is acutely aware of the children who vanish into the fog. Aldwin was unsurprised when Little Timmy approached him after defeating the pale figure, suggesting he has been observing or investigating these disappearances for many years.
Aldwin possesses critical knowledge about the curse: the pale figure "feeds on forgetting," taking one more child into the mist with each seven-day cycle when adults lose their memories. He recognizes that Little Timmy's unique awareness—his ability to remember when he should forget—makes him dangerous to the pale figure and fundamentally different from other children.
However, Aldwin is bound by something he does not fully understand, which prevents him from directly stopping the pale figure despite his years of experience with the curse. The nature of this binding and the price he pays for his continued memory remain mysterious.
Aldwin reveals that the pale figure feeds on forgetting and that Timmy's ability to remember makes him dangerous to it.
Little Timmy asks Aldwin for his name, learning he is the Village Elder who uniquely retains memories between weekly cycles.
Little Timmy and Big Timmy approach the Village Elder at the fountain, who reveals knowledge of the pale figure and the missing children.
